Optelec Introduces Flat Screen Video Magnifier Bringing Life into Focus for the Visually Impaired
Optelec introduces new video magnifier featuring 15" TFT screen, with adjustable monitor arm.
Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) August 9, 2004 -- Optelec USA, Inc. announced today
the introduction of the ClearView Flex, their latest innovation in video
magnification products, helping the visually impaired read, write, and enjoy
other sight dependent activities.
Building upon the advanced digital
camera technology of Optelec’s flagship ClearView product line, the ClearView
Flex (Flex) integrates a 15” TFT flat screen, with an adjustable arm, magnifying
text, pictures, or anything else placed beneath it from 4 - 50 times its
original size. The addition of these new features provides the user with the
ability to position the monitor in multiple locations, providing optimal
viewing, as well as unparalleled comfort.
“For many individuals living
with low vision, it’s imperative that they are able to position themselves as
closely to the monitor as possible. With the adjustable arm of the Flex System,
the monitor can be placed directly in front of the user, providing significantly
increased visibility,” stated Annette Fasnacht, President of Optelec USA. “The
Flex also offers great benefit to individuals suffering from painful neck
ailments, such as arthritis; with the screen positioned in front of the unit,
opposed to on top of it, as with comparable products on the market, they are not
continuously looking upwards at the screen, making it more comfortable during
longer durations of use.”
In addition to the flat screen and adjustable
arm, the ClearView Flex boasts many advanced features standard on every unit,
including: continuous auto-focus (CAF), line markers, windowing, and 16
alternate foreground and background options.
Available in August 2004,
the Clearview Flex is available through Optelec dealers nationwide. To find a
dealer near you, please call Optelec customer service at 800-828-1056 or visit
