(PRWEB) September 6, 2004 -- HAV-A-JOE cigars, were introduced in 1947 as a
victory cigar to honor all the Joe's who served in WWII.
HAV-A-JOE's
brand name can be credited to Cpl. Joe Gonzalez who served in Africa and Europe.
On his return from the war, Joe related to his family and friends how people in
the towns and villages would call out "Joe", "I turned my head in the direction
of the caller, even though we were all called Joe, I always felt they were
calling out to me", Joe said.
Joe's brother, Faustino, had a cigar
company and came up with the HAV-A-JOE cigar brand name. HAV-A-JOE cigars were
manufactured and distributed in the Tampa area by , F. Gonzalez Cigar Company,
Tampa, Florida during 1947 - 1951.
The current HAV-A-JOE cigars are made
to the specifications and consistency of the post WWII product in aroma and
taste. HAV-A-JOE's are handmade, long filler with a maduro wrapper. HAV-A-JOE is
available in a handsome cedar box with 25 SOLDADOS (Soldiers), each wrapped in
shaved cedar and cellophane for freshness. The size is a 6/44 corona, which
coincidently was also the June 1944 D-Day date.
