Announcement of the new website for the 304th POC Fund, a private association dedicated to supporting the soldiers of the Sacramento-based 304th Psychological Operations Company. It includes the initial fundraising effort and where the funds will be directed.
SACRAMENTO, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2004 -- A new website designed to support
the soldiers of the Sacramento-based US Army Reserve 304th Psychological
Operations Company was announced today by the 304th POC Fund (“the Fund”). The
website is http://www.304thpocfund.org.
"The Fund is a private
civilian association dedicated to supporting the soldiers of the 304th.” said
Steven Tolle, Director of the 304th POC Fund, "The Fund is a morale, welfare and
recreation fund for the unit. The website will allow the Fund, and the soldiers
of the 304th, greater visibility."
The Fund is also kicking off its
initial fundraising effort. The goal is to raise $50,000 by June 1, 2004, Tolle
said. "These funds will be used to assist the widow and newborn son of the 304th
soldier killed in action in Afghanistan; help in the retraining of a 304th
solder who was severely wounded in Afghanistan and can no longer pursue his
career in law enforcement, as well as support for the soldiers during their
drills and future deployments”. The top 5 donors will be invited to attend the
304th’s Welcome Home Dining Out event on June 19th, 2004. Complete details can
be found on the website.
This effort is personal, explained Tolle. "I
served with and personally know most of the soldiers the Fund will support."
Tolle was assigned to the 304th for five years before his enlistment expired in
2001.
The Fund is a private association and is not affiliated with the
US Army, US Army Reserve, Department of Defense or US Government.
