Westfield Eye Center Selects Galvanon's eClipboard
Use of eClipboard will allow clinic to streamline the patient registration process, leading to increased efficiency and improved patient satisfaction.
Maitland, FL (PRWEB via PR Web
Direct) June 14, 2005 -- Galvanon, the patient experience company, today
announced that Westfield Eye Center, the largest eye care provider in the
metropolitan Las Vegas area, has selected its wireless eClipboard™ solution to
streamline the patient registration process at its two locations. Westfield Eye
Center will use the patient self-service device to identify patients at
check-in, gather necessary forms and signatures, and collect co-payments and
outstanding balances.
Westfield Eye Center offers comprehensive eye care
services to patients in the southern Nevada area, including general
ophthalmology, oculoplastic surgery, laser vision correction and the diagnosis
and treatment of glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, neuro-ophthalmology, corneal
and cataract. Since its opening in 1980, Westfield Eye Center has demonstrated a
commitment to providing the most effective procedures for the treatment of all
eye conditions.
"Implementing Galvanon's eClipboard technology is a
win-win for our organization because it benefits both patients and staff members
alike," said Kenneth Westfield, M.D., founder and chief executive officer of
Westfield Eye Center. "Patients will appreciate the convenience of the
self-service option, which will help to reduce redundant paperwork and minimize
wait times. At the same time, our staff members will have more time to focus on
care-related issues and concerns."
Upon arrival at the facility, patients
will swipe a driver's license, credit card or membership card directly on the
eClipboard to begin checking in. All of the information the patient enters or
verifies using the touch screen interface will be made automatically available
in the clinic's practice management and electronic medical records (EMR) system.
This capability brings added value to staff by eliminating duplicate data entry
and minimizing the risk of errors that result from patient misidentification and
clerical errors.
"Our self-service approach to patient registration is
truly revolutionizing the check-in process, and we applaud Westfield Eye Center
for taking this important step," said Raj Toleti, chairman and chief executive
officer of Galvanon. "By using our eClipboard solution, we are confident they
will be able to increase patient satisfaction while also improving day-to-day
workflow."
Galvanon's eClipboard is part of a comprehensive suite of
products that allows hospitals and clinics to provide patient self-service
capabilities. These products include MediKiosk™, a free-standing check-in kiosk,
on-line BillPay and pre-registration via the Web.
