SAN ANTONIO, TX, LEUSDEN, NL and EXTON, PA, (PRWEB) July 25, 2005 --
Acceletronics, Inc., a U.S. provider of radiation therapy service and
distributor of equipment and parts, today announced that Cancer Therapy &
Research Center (CTRC) in San Antonio, Texas, has purchased thee more TheraView
LX EPID systems, designed by Dutch manufacturer Cablon Medical
BV.
Acceletronics and Cablon have a strategic alliance to market and
support the new TheraView Technology line of portal imaging systems. The
TheraView ® system, designed for the precise needs of radiation therapy,
delivers Clinicians a full scope of imaging and diagnostic features. In addition
to DICOM export, high resolution image acquisition and the capability to display
dynamic treatment movie loops, the Target Check® automated beam alignment
verification software gives the precision and control Clinicians need for both
conventional, image guided and intensity modulated radiation therapy
(IMRT).
“We were so pleased with the first TheraView we had Acceletronics
install for us last year, that we decided to outfit the rest of our treatment
machines”, said Mr. Jeff Peyton, Director of Accelerator and Biomedical
Engineering, Cancer Therapy & Research Center (CTRC), San Antonio, Texas.
“The TheraView EPID has not only freed us from film, darkroom and processor, it
has helped us improve quality of care. We have found the TheraView to be a more
reliable, less expensive alternative to the OEM offering.”
“We know by
the feedback we are receiving from TheraView end users that the TheraView EPID
and it’s TargetCheck® software is performing very well for both simple and
complex portal imaging tasks” said James Young, Jr., Vice-President of
Acceletronics, Inc. “And using proven, reliable and less costly leading edge
technology for high quality imaging, the TheraView overall cost of ownership
represents a savings of over 50% when compared to the amorphous silicon detector
systems.”
