Opal Healthcare Speeds Growth With Key Appointment

A fast developing UK pharmaceutical supplier has recruited a Regulatory Affairs Manager to support its growing portfolio of specialist hospitable injectable products.

(PRWEB) January 27, 2005 -- Expanding UK pharmaceutical supplier, Opal Healthcare, has appointed Tom Wightman as its new Regulatory Affairs Manager. He will be supporting all of Opal’s new product submissions for the UK and Europe.

Tom joins Opal from ratiopharm, where he was Regulatory Affairs Officer, specifically handling Generics development, for the past three years. Previously he had been at Cambridge, leaving with a BA Hons Cantab in Natural Sciences in 2001.

Opal currently is currently developing a portfolio of 15 to 20 specialist hospital injectable products, which are at different stages in the pipeline.

“Opal is a uniquely well rounded and supported business,” said Tom. “I was attracted by its strong prospects, and opportunities should continue to grow as we gain more exposure and access to the wider market.”

Established in 2001 Opal supplies a wide range of pharmaceuticals to the NHS and exports to overseas companies and medical organisations. As well as extending its own product list, it is establishing sales and development agreements with leading research establishments and manufacturers around the world.
