San Francisco (PRWEB) July 13, 2005 -– The Enzyme Research Group (ERG), a consortium of health care professionals, announced today that they have launched a new Internet site (www.enzymeresearchgroup.net) that will help bridge the knowledge gap on enzymes as dietary supplements and provide the most up-to-date information and research on their evolving role in health care. The ERG was founded for the purpose of bringing the academic and healing community together to strategically gather effective and proven clinical research on enzymes for the sake of advancement in nutrition therapy, prevention and optimal health for the individual.

The ERG welcomes the participation of alternative medical clinics throughout the US to share clinical data on this site. The ERG hopes to make sure that the evolving role and up-to- date information on enzymes in health care is available to clinicians, academia and researchers.

“We believe enzymes play a crucial and exciting role in optimal health,” said Victoria Hamman, Naturopathic Doctor. “As health care professionals, in collaboration we can develop more reliable enzyme therapy protocols for the prevention and optimal health of those who count on us for nutritional counseling.”

“I’m very happy to be part of this consortium of health care providers whose goal is to advance the knowledge and research of enzymes for good health, said Betty Kamen, PhD, author of more than 20 books and hundreds of articles on nutrition and health. “I have been educating about the value of enzymes for a variety of conditions for several decades now. I believe we have finally evolved enough in alternative health care that enzymes are being recognized as a critical component in creating good health and well-being.”

Enzymes have been studied in Europe for over 50 years. However, most of the research has been focused on glandular or animal based enzymes. ERG will also open up the opportunity for published research on plant based and microbial sourced enzyme therapy. ERG will include as many collaborative groups, health professionals and projects to ensure a comprehensive and efficacious outcome. For more information, log onto www.enzymeresearchgroup.net.
