Ormond McGill, known in the profession as Dean of American Hypnotists and Honorary Chairman of World Hypnotism Day has announced the designation and inauguration of Tuesday, January 4th 2005 as the first annual World Hypnotism Day. In the field of hypnotism since 1927 and with 21 books to his credit, Honorary Chairman McGill confirms Tuesday, January 4th as an important day for the event.
(PRWEB) December 31, 2004 -- “With New Year resolutions at the top of
everyone’s mind, the timing is perfect for a world day to celebrate our
profession and I am confident World Hypnotism Day will prove to be one of the
most impressive displays of professionalism and sharing of knowledge and skills
by hypnotists around the world.”
"The public will benefit and begin this
New Year better than ever as professional hypnotists around the world
demonstrate the proven benefits of hypnotism during this day," says
McGill.
Members of all of the primary professional associations in the
alternative health field of hypnotism have joined together for the first time in
history to share information, create awareness and demonstrate the benefits of
hypnotism for everyone.
Participating organizations are: the National
Guild of Hypnotists, Academy of Professional Hypnosis, Association to Advance
Ethical Hypnosis, Banyan Hypnosis Center, Die Freie Gesellschaft für Hypnose
e.V. (Germany).

enthusiastically rallied to the opportunity to both celebrate our profession and
share our experiences with so many," comments Tom Nicoli, the certified
hypnotist who demonstrated last year on Dateline NBC how effective hypnosis is
for weight loss."Many of the local events are either free or low cost, with most
of the participating hypnotists donating to local charities on that day."
A special web site has been created to provide more information about
hypnotism and special events: http://www.worldhypnotismday.com
Four free hypnosis
sessions are available to those visiting the web site.
Hypnosis is known
especially in the areas of weight loss, smoking cessation and stress management.
These and other benefits of hypnosis have had new focus during 2004 as a result
of growing attention by international media, Newsweek, Scientific America, The
Times of London and other international and popular syndicated television shows
around the world.
