Release 3.0 of its Risk And Safety Management Alert System (RASMAS). RASMAS
Release 3.0 is the result of a nine-month development effort designed to
strengthen the software infrastructure and improve the user's interaction with
the system. Highlights of this release include a new look and interface, greater
flexibility in handling and managing alerts, better audit tracking, and improved
search capabilities.
Introduced in January 2004, RASMAS, a web-based
subscription service designed exclusively for healthcare organizations, provides
an immediate improvement in patient safety by automating many of the manual
processes in the management of product and safety alerts.
The redesign
of RASMAS was based on subscribers’ input on alert management processes and
workflow. New tracking features make it easy for hospitals to know the status of
every alert. Urgent and delayed alerts are highlighted with icons to help users
quickly spot alerts that need immediate attention. Improved search capabilities
make it quicker to access important management details, when audits or
retrospective studies are requested. RASMAS 3.0 includes enhancements to
multi-role management and multi-facility alert tracking and closure
functionality. These features make RASMAS even more flexible in meeting the
needs of healthcare systems in monitoring and managing alerts on a per facility
basis.
RASMAS, a revolutionary patient safety service, has received
wide-spread recognition and acceptance in the healthcare community. RASMAS was
developed in collaboration with Johns Hopkins Health System and is now in use by
