Consumers Get Chance to Give Drug Companies a Taste of Their Own Medicine
Film launches contest that lets consumers create their own TV drug commercial.
(PRWEB) July 20, 2005 -- Film launches contest that lets consumers create
their own tv drug commercial.
Mo Productions, the production company of
the independent feature film "Side Effects," gives consumers a chance to bite
back at big pharma and the deluge of drug ads bombarding television screens.
Consumers can submit their own 30 second drug commercial with a chance to win
$1000 cash and the opportunity for their commercial to be included on the "Side
Effects" DVD.
"We think the contest will be a fun way for the American
Public to fight back with some humor and ambiguity of their own," said Kathleen
Slattery-Moschkau, director and writer of "Side Effects." "We’re dying to see
what they can come up with."
Parties must register online at www.sideeffectsthemovie.com and send in their 30 second
commercials. Contest begins August 1, 2005. Those who pass the preliminary round
will have their commercials posted on the Side Effects website for public
voting.
"Side Effects" is an eye opening, insider’s look at the
pill-pushing tactics of the pharmaceutical industry. The film is closely based
on the writer/director’s (Kathleen Slattery-Moschkau) ten years of experience
working directly for the pharmaceutical industry as a sales representative. Side
Effects stars Katherine Heigl ("Grey’s Anatomy") and will be in select theaters
this fall.
