Irvine and Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) February 24, 2004--Cognitive Care, a
developer of technologies for screening and monitoring cognitive conditions such
as memory loss, today announced that it has named Michael Addicott of Addicott
Ventures as Managing Director.
A veteran of several start-ups, Addicott
provides hands-on leadership to early stage companies. His background includes
experience at UPS where he served as product manager for UPS Online; product
strategy at PeopleSoft; supply chain firm Saltare (co-founder and Executive VP)
which merged with Vizional Technologies; Portal Wave (founding investor &
board member) which merged with Kinzan, Inc., and popular MP3 network DigaCast
(President and co-founder).
Addicott will focus
on developing and expanding the company’s online services and creating
subscription-revenue, and he joins present management Josh Reynolds, the
company’s Founder, and Dr. Robert Heller, Medical Director.
“I view the
area of memory loss and cognitive impairment as one of the world’s great health
challenges, and now with the maturation of the Internet, the time is right for a
service that will enable anyone, anywhere, to test and track their memory, based
on clinically-approved and patent-protected technology,” said Dr. Addicott.
“Furthermore, with almost 6.5 billion people in the world and over 300 million
suffering from some degree of memory loss, coupled with the gradual aging of the
population, the opportunity is more important than online package tracking –
which became one of the great uses of the Internet.”
Dr. Addicott will concentrate on building strategic partnerships and
expanding the company’s business across sectors, leadership of online efforts
and strategic marketing.
