Bishop George D. McKinney to Endorse President Bush

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) May 6, 2004 -– In the fog of the political wars, one
thing has become crystal clear to San Diego’s Bishop George Dallas McKinney.
When he casts his vote in November for the next president of the United States
it will be for George W. Bush. Bishop McKinney is endorsing Bush for President
because of the President’s stand on marriage, abortion, and the AIDS issue in
Africa.
“The Bush administration has taken positions on marriage and
abortion that uphold the traditions of protecting the sanctity of families and
the welfare of the unborn child. It has also been acting aggressively to get the
AIDS epidemic in Africa under control,” says McKinney.
Bishop McKinney,
senior pastor at St. Stephen’s Church of God in Christ in San Diego, is an
influential leader in the African American community who has been a spiritual
advisor to presidents, kings and business leaders. Bishop McKinney felt
compelled to support Bush after the recent signing of new laws that prosecute
crimes against unborn children. McKinney sees the Bush administration’s
proactive leadership on these and related issues as implementing principles that
protect children and the future of America. He was further convinced last year
when the Bush administration implemented a global AIDS initiative that allocated
over 15 billion U.S. dollars to target the raging AIDS problem in
Africa.
“In these difficult times we cannot afford to be indecisive on
the principles that make us a strong country and a strong spiritual community.
The clergy in America must take a stand, not on politics but on the values that
they preach to their congregations every Sunday!” says McKinney. “I believe
George W. Bush has demonstrated the fortitude necessary to hold together the
families that form the foundation of this country. He is demonstrating the kind
of values that strengthen humanity and build community through his unwavering
leadership. He deserves our support and our votes.”
