Bright Transitions Establishes Website
South Florida's senior population has a new friend.
Parkland, FL (PRWEB) May 7, 2005 -- Bright Transitions, based out of
Parkland, Florida, announces that it has established a website: www.brighttransitions.com.
The company, which provides
assistance to seniors who must move, is family-operated by mother and son,
Barbara and Jaret Brietstein.
According to Barbara Brietstein, who has
been married to a physician since 1970 and has worked in the medical field
herself since 2000, Bright Transitions was started in 2004 in order to fill a
void in the South Florida marketplace.
Several years ago, the
self-proclaimed caretaker was forced to retire from her 20-year-old event design
and coordination business in order to handle an unexpected series of moves for
her parents resulting from their failing health. She moved them from their
condominium into an independent living community, then to an assisted living
facility, nursing home and Alzheimer’s unit. Based on this trying experience,
she recognized the unmet need for services in her community and made the
commitment to help others by becoming a senior mover manager.
“The
services that Bright Transitions offers were not available in South Florida when
I needed them,” Brietstein recounts. “If they had been, I would have been spared
a lot of time, money, stress and confusion. The mission of our company is to do
just that – simplify the transition and turn it from a fearful, anxiety-ridden
experience into an efficient, positive one for our elderly clients.”
Having seen what his mother went through to relocate his grandparents,
and having become aware of the complexities of later-life moves, Jaret
Brietstein readily agreed to become a partner in the start-up venture, which was
immediately met by a favorable response.
Referrals have been coming to
Bright Transitions from doctors’ offices, home health agencies and
word-of-mouth. The company principals are licensed and insured, as well as
members of the National Association of Senior Mover Managers, Broward Coalition
on Aging, and the South Florida Guardianship Association.
Both
Brietsteins concur that their senior moving coordination services are ideal for
the elderly if their poor health makes it physically, mentally or emotionally
impossible for them to handle their move themselves; if maintaining their home
has become too much work; if they are afraid in their own home; if they have no
family members to help; or if they must relocate in a hurry.
Likewise,
Bright Transitions brings peace of mind to the children of their elder clients
if they live out of state, if their careers don’t allow them time off, if they
have other family responsibilities, or if they just don’t know where to start.
“The prospect of sorting, eliminating, packing and relocating one’s
personal belongings can be overwhelming. Will their furniture fit into their new
surroundings? Who will tell the post office and their doctors that they have
moved, and arrange for the utilities to be turned off in their old residence and
turned on in their new one? A thousand concerns surface,” Barbara Brietstein
said. “But, when Bright Transitions is a family’s moving partner, we’re beside
them to do as little or as much as is needed. We serve as the single contact
point for all service providers, such as a moving company, estate liquidator,
charity organization (for donation pick ups), trash removal and house cleaning
services. We can also coordinate with Realtors®, renovators and decorators, if
asked. Best of all, on the day of the move, we connect the phones, televisions,
lamps. And, we make the beds, and set up the kitchen, living room and bathrooms,
so our clients don’t have to. They sleep well as a result of a very smooth
transition.”

member of the Senior Mover Network - www.seniormover.com.
