Manhattan Dentist Embodies Philanthropic Spirit
Dr. Jan Linhart announces the establishment of the Linhart Family Scholarship Fund for Bowdoin College.

Direct) July 14, 2005 -- Dr. Jan Linhart, a member of Bowdoin College's
Class of 1975, announced the establishment of the Linhart Family Scholarship
Fund for Bowdoin College, as a part of his family's continuing commitment to
education.
“I know how important the financial aid endowment is to making
it possible for the most capable students, regardless of their ability to pay
fully, to attend a school of Bowdoin's caliber,” said Dr. Linhart.
Dr.
Linhart, a financial aid recipient himself, as well as a first generation
immigrant from Czechoslovakia recognized the importance of supporting education
early in life. While working towards his D.D.S. degree from New York University,
Dr. Linhart immediately began giving back to Bowdoin with $5.00 gifts to the
Alumni Fund, all that he could afford from a tight graduate student's
budget.
Jan and his wife Ellen now expect that their two sons, who both
currently attend Bowdoin, will in turn support the Fund in what they hope will
become a family tradition. The Linhart family was featured this month in
